The Walkathon is the biggest event in The Pied Piper Appeal calendar and attracts hundreds of walkers. Last year we raised just over around £22,000, with around 330 walkers, this year we hope to top that!
The Walk is a 23.4 mile circular route around the outskirts of Gloucester, taking in some beautiful countryside. There are 10 checkpoints on the way, and walkers can start and finish at ANY of them, meaning that they can choose how far to walk. We have courtesy buses (thank you to Bristol Street Motors) to return walkers to their starting points. There is no entry fee, all we ask is that walkers raise as much sponsorship money as they are able.
It’s an excellent way to spend a sunny Sunday in June with friends, family or colleagues. Whether you like a relaxing stroll or a great challenge, this event is for everyone. There are medals for all walkers and prizes for most money raised, fastest and slowest times.
